1. Cassini Historical Maps - Enlarged reproductions of historical Ordnance Survey maps from the 19th century and the 1920s, bringing the history of your area to life.
Cassini's printed maps are digitally enhanced reproductions of the original Ordnance Survey maps of the same names – but with a very important difference. They have combined, re-projected and enlarged them to match the scale and coverage of the present-day Ordnance Survey Landrangers®, so making direct comparison between the past and the present easy and accurate.
2. Historical Guide Books for Counties, Towns, Villages and Churches
These are mostly official guides published by parish, borough or county councils. The books generally contain a combination of local history, details of local services, descriptive gazetteers of local villages, photographs, local business advertisements and a map. They provide a real window on eras gone by and unlike modern historical books, the text is written in the style and language of the time.
3. Festival Folk - A celebration of the unique style of Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival.
Our own publication: a limited edition 112 page book of photographs evoking the spirit of this colourful annual music festival in the village of Cropredy, Oxfordshire. The festival has grown from a small concert by the founders of folk-rock music 'Fairport Convention' in the late 1970s to a major three-day annual festival mid August with around 20,000 people attending each year. All profit from the sale of this book is being donated to the registered charity The Teenage Cancer Trust. Over £2,800 has been donated so far.
